Ermi is a UK-based RegTech company built on a simple idea - that powerful financial crime prevention tools should be accessible, easy to use and affordable, even for the smallest firms.

Founded by a former Google director and financial crime expert, (Mike Southgate) and his longtime R&D friend from the BBC, (Jamie Knight) Ermi was born from a real-world need for something that just works, without complexity, bloat or a big price tag.

At its core, Ermi is a transaction monitoring tool that quietly does its job in the background. Clients upload their data via common tools like Google Drive, AWS S3 and Microsoft Azure, and Ermi returns a clean, straightforward Excel report, flagging anything that looks suspicious. No logins, no portals, just fast, effective risk analysis delivered daily, weekly, or whenever it’s needed.

Inspired by a road trip, built over a holiday break and named after a cow-scented car, (Ermintrude) Ermi isn’t your average compliance platform. It’s built by people who care about solving real problems for real users and who believe doing good work should be as intuitive as it is impactful.
